Website Checker / Platform

Website platform check: is your CMS version still supported?

Which system the site is built on (WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, Shopify, a site builder…), which version, and whether that version still receives security fixes.

What the colours mean

  • OK. The platform is current, or it is a hosted service that the provider updates for you.
  • Needs attention. The platform is outdated or its version is hidden — updates are probably overdue.
  • Problem. The platform version no longer receives security fixes, or is officially marked insecure. Holes found in it will never be patched.

Why it matters for your business

  • Old platforms are the most common way websites get hacked: attackers scan the internet for known old versions automatically.
  • A hacked site can be blacklisted by Google and lose its search traffic.
  • Moving off an unsupported major version is often as much work as building a new site.

What you can do yourself

  • Make a full backup before any update.
  • Check the admin panel for available updates and install them.
  • If the major version is no longer supported (for example, Drupal 7 or 8, Joomla 3), plan a move to a current platform rather than patching.

What OLBO can do

Technical website audit — from €490, 2 working days: a report with exact instructions for your developer.

Order a technical audit

When the platform itself is old, patching costs more every year. A new site on a current platform fixes this indicator together with speed, security and accessibility.

Website redesign

Common doubts

The site works — why change anything?

It works until someone uses a known hole. Versions without support never get the fix, so the risk only grows.

Won't a new website cost a fortune?

Not necessarily: compare the prices below. Patching an unsupported platform year after year often ends up costing more.

What this usually costs

Approximate prices from open sources — for orientation only.

New small business website (5–7 pages)
USA$4,000–17,900
Europe$2,000–11,900 (UK)
OLBOfrom €2,900 (landing page from €690)

Estimate: about 40–120 hours × average agency hourly rates (Clutch). Clutch also reports that most web design projects reviewed on its platform cost under $10,000. Sources: Clutch «Web design pricing» (updated 21 September 2026). Prices vary with scope; OLBO prices are fixed after a free brief.
