Website Checker / AI readiness
AI readiness check: can ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity read your website?
Whether robots.txt lets the main AI assistants read the site, whether the text is readable without JavaScript, whether the page has structured data (schema.org) and link-preview tags, and whether there is an llms.txt guide for AI.
What the colours mean
- OK. AI assistants can read the site and understand who you are.
- Needs attention. Readable, but key hints are missing — structured data, enough text without JavaScript or llms.txt.
- Problem. Main AI assistants are blocked in robots.txt, or they see an almost empty page.
Why it matters for your business
- More and more people ask AI assistants which company to choose. If they cannot read your site, they recommend someone else.
- robots.txt rules copied from templates often block AI bots by accident.
- Without structured data, assistants guess your address, services and prices — and sometimes guess wrong.
What you can do yourself
- Open your-site.com/robots.txt and look for GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot with «Disallow: /».
- Make sure your main text is in the page itself, not only loaded by scripts.
- Add JSON-LD structured data and an /llms.txt file with a short description and links.
What OLBO can do
AI search visibility audit (AEO) — from €590: how ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google AI see your site, and what to change.
Common doubts
Should we let AI bots read our site?
For most businesses, yes: blocking them means ChatGPT, Claude or Perplexity cannot describe or recommend you. Blocking only training bots (GPTBot, Google-Extended) while allowing search bots is a reasonable middle ground.
Our site looks fine in the browser — why would AI see an empty page?
Browsers run JavaScript; many AI crawlers do not. If the text is built by scripts, the crawler sees only an empty frame.
