One check instead of five tools: what the OLBO Website Checker does and how it is different

To find out whether a website is in good shape, an owner usually has to open several tools. Here is what our Website Checker does differently, and, just as honestly, what it does not do.

Great tools, one question each

PageSpeed Insights shows speed. SSL Labs checks the secure connection. MXToolbox checks email records. WAVE checks accessibility. They are excellent free tools, and we use them ourselves. But each one answers a single question, in a developer’s language.

The OLBO Website Checker answers a different question: is my website in good shape, and what should I fix first?

13 checks in about a minute

Hosting; HTTPS and protective security settings; email protection against spoofing (SPF and DMARC); the platform and outdated components; known vulnerabilities; Google’s list of dangerous sites; website age; basic accessibility with the European Accessibility Act in mind; GDPR basics; Google search basics; whether AI assistants can read the site; mobile speed.

Plus 3 bonus checks

Checks that single-purpose tools usually skip:

  1. When the domain is paid until, so it does not expire by accident.
  2. Whether the domain is protected from theft (transfer lock).
  3. Whether the site has hidden links to casino or pharmacy websites, a common sign of a hacked site.

What makes it different

  1. Plain language. Not "DMARC p=none", but "scammers can send emails that look like they come from your company", and what to do about it.
  2. A priority. The report starts with the most important fix, not with a long list.
  3. Everything in one place. Security, email, accessibility, GDPR, Google, AI and speed in a single run.
  4. You see it work. Results appear live, item by item, not behind a spinner.
  5. You can check us. The first results link to independent free tools with your address already filled in.
  6. No false alarms on purpose. If a registry does not publish a status, we do not call it unsafe. Only hidden links that lead to casino or pharmacy sites count as hidden spam.
  7. We do not store which sites were checked.
  8. A report that stands on its own. The full PDF report explains every letter and colour, so you can forward it to a manager or a developer.
  9. One payment, no subscription. The score and overview are free; the full report with step-by-step fixes is €25.

What it does not do

It does not replace a penetration test, a full SEO audit or a manual accessibility audit. It is an automatic check of public data at a single moment. For big decisions you need an audit, and we do those too: see our audits page.
